This book is written is written in beautiful English and is well researched and scholarly with out being hard to understand. Dr Hendricks has no ax to grind . H r Books like this do nothing to bridge any of the gaps that divide people, both in general, and most definitely within the Church. The biggest problem we are faced with today is in the defining of what the church is. The church was never to be involved in social reform or human rights (as far as groups within political parties go).Nope....it never was, and it should never be. Jesus came to reach people...individuals, and when ever He has an encounter with a person, it is transforming. Jesus changed peoples lives. This book, it sounds like it is born from hate, and it seeks to do nothing more than to fan the flames of hate and division. This is the opposite of the 'love your neighbor' sentiment that it claims to purport. This is a very sad read. Another big problem I have with it is the way it flat out ignores clear teachings from both Jesus and Paul, and it falsely claims that people that do hold to the clear teaching of scripture are Nationalist, White, and clearly Trump supporters. The Woke version of Christianity (or progressive) is another gospel, and it is to be condemned...... There is one gospel JUST ONE. If what this book refers to as White Christian Nationalism is what you think represents the gospel, and true christianity, you are completely ill informed.I encourage you to read: Christianity and Wokeness, by Owen Strachan..... orFaultlines: by Voddie Baucham jr.These books come from a place of love and restoration, not from the place of hate that this book comes from. The constant barrage of anti Trump attacks and the name calling of the people that have fallen prey to White Right Wing brand of christianity, is tiresome.This book needs to be read with a keen eye, and i beg you to look into the out of context scripture twisting.
